Supervisor George Hoehmann Encourages Residents to Shop Local Small Businesses on Saturday
Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann reported that the Town of Clarkstown; and the Nanuet and New City Chambers of Commerce, and others, favors Saturday, November 26, 2016 as ‘Small Business Saturday’. Several Clarkstown businesses are on American Express' 'Shop Small' website.
“We encourage Clarkstown residents to shop in all our downtown hamlet centers and support their local ‘mom and pop shops’ keeping our dollars in Clarkstown,” said Supervisor George Hoehmann. “Our small businesses are the economic engine of our Town and I ask all residents to join me in supporting our local shop owners and our economy.”
Residents should search for small businesses in Clarkstown, New York on https://www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/shop-small/.
“With the holiday season upon us, let’s keep it local,” said Supervisor Hoehmann. “Bring your family and friends to our beautiful hamlet centers to shop and eat at a variety of stores and restaurants.”
“The Nanuet Chamber is proud to support Small Business Saturday again this year. We love having well known large businesses in Nanuet, but it is the smaller, family owned businesses that make the fabric of Nanuet so unique. We will be promoting the small businesses who are participating on our website and handing out 100 Small Business Saturday bags Friday afternoon at Growler & Gil in Nanuet and invite residents to join us to get their free bag,” stated Risa B. Hoag, President of the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce.
Roxanne Perrone, President of the New City Chamber of Commerce, said “We are proud to participate in Small Business Saturday again this year. Ray’s Fit Fuel Deli on Maple Avenue will be ‘the spot’ to kick off Small Business Saturday in New City and pick up small business Saturday reusable shopping bags. The deli is open from 7am to 4pm and will happily welcome customers all day along with many other businesses in downtown New City.”
