U.S. Department of State Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenke will travel to Egypt December 17th - 20th, 2019.  The Assistant Secretary will meet with senior Egyptian officials, the Arab League in Cairo, and Multinational Force & Observers in the city of Sinai to discuss the region's issues. The Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel agreed to create the Multinational Force & Observers organization in Rome, Italy to wed the Annex I to the 1979 Treaty of Peace between Egypt and Israel. In 1945 the Arab League was established. The League of Arab States has 22 members: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.

The League of Arab States "...impact-driven mission is to improve the status and welfare of people in the Arab World and beyond by offering community information, expertise and new opportunities to connect, collaborate, and campaign to offer real support for real issues."
