Hail Luxury Jewelry: Eugénie de Montijo, The Last Empress of France Exhibits Jewels to Be Auctioned at Christie’s Jewels Auction
"Married to Napoleon III, Eugénie de Montijo (1826-1920) was a woman of great elegance, beauty and charm," stated a Christie's representative. Her mother delivered her in Granada, Spain. An excellent French school Sacré-Coeur`convent. The jewelry on the right in the above picture is a
mid-19th century ruby and a diamond heart locket pendant, circa 1850-60, (estimate: £10,000-15,000). The photograph of the earrings on the left are 19th century natural pearl earrings (estimate: £60,000-80,000). Christie's in London is auctioning these historic jewelry. I purchased similar elongated pearl earrings.
