Announcing the finalists of the Australian Fashion Laureate 2019 No Images? Click here   IMG ANNOUNCES FINALISTS FOR THE 2019 AUSTRALIAN FASHION LAUREATE SYDNEY, 23 September 2019 – IMG today announced the finalists for the Australian Fashion Laureate, celebrating individuals who have made a significant contribution to the growth, development and global promotion of the Australian fashion industry. Winners will be announced on 23 October at a celebratory luncheon at Café Sydney on Sydney Harbour. “With the introduction of the Sustainable Innovation award, we are celebrating the Australian industry’s growing dedication to lessening fashion’s impact on our environment,” states Natalie Xenita, Executive Director of IMG’s fashion group in Australia. “This award category complements our existing accolades, which not only celebrate Australia’s exceptional talent, but highlight the most noteworthy innovations shaping our industry and its future.” Minister for Tourism Stuart Ayres said the prestigious event had a fitting home in Sydney: “There’s no doubt that Sydney is the fashion capital of Australia, and the esteemed Australian Fashion Laureate brings together the best in the business here in the Harbour City to celebrate and cast forward. As the strategic sponsor of the Australian Fashion Laureate, the NSW Government is proud to support an industry that builds the profile and creative spirit of our city. We know the global fashion community will have all eyes on Sydney to see who the 2019 innovators, leaders and change makers are when the awards are presented in October.” Australian Fashion Laureate recipients are nominated and chosen by a voting panel of more than 30 industry leaders, including media, buyers, communications professionals, brand executives, creatives and designers, called the Australian Fashion Industry Alumni.
