IMPACT WEEK

The reintroduced Miami Marlins Foundation kicked off its inaugural Impact Week yesterday, a series of seven events in seven days that aim to make a difference in South Florida's youth by creating opportunities to foster an active lifestyle, achieve academic success, and build leadership skills. As part of Impact Week, an online raffle auction - featuring unique experiences and memorabilia - is available for fans to participate in to benefit the Miami Marlins Foundation programs. Bidding is now available at Marlins.com/ImpactWeek.

Today's event was a Philanthropy Fun Day at Feeding South Florida Broward in Pembroke Park from 1:30-4:30. The Marlins' organization, including Marlins Alumni Charles Johnson and Alex Gonzalez, will gather as a community to sort food that will assist more than 706,000 families and individuals in South Florida that face food insecurity. Tomorrow, Impact Week continues at Charles R. Drew K-8 Center from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., where students and Marlins' players and staff will take part in a Beautification Project that includes painting a Jackie Robinson-themed mural with Our Colores created by local artist William Osorio.
