Kick Up Your Heels: The Fine Art of Shoes, Cedar Rapids
The humble shoe, one of the most basic items of human clothing, has been the focus of some of the most outrageous fashion ideas. Inspired by the exhibition Killer Heels: The Art of the High Heeled Shoe from the Brooklyn Museum, Kick up Your Heels celebrates the unique design elements in contemporary women’s shoes. The exhibition, on display at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art through September 1, features shoes from Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Stuart Weitzman, Diane von Furstenberg, Christian Dior, Prada, Nicholas Kirkwood, Walter Steiger, and Sonia Rykiel, among others, presented as art objects and highlighting the design elements that make them unique.

Siouxnami Waterpark, Sioux Center
Opened last week, the $6.5 million waterpark includes Iowa's only aqua zipline, a lazy river, three waterslides and a climbing wall over the water. The city-operated facility also includes zero-depth entry pools and splash areas.

No. 9 Iowa Whiskey
Iowa's own SLIPKNOT will release their own craft spirit, No. 9 Iowa Whiskey, on August 10. The whiskey, a collaboration with Iowa's Cedar Ridge Distillery in Swisher, will be available at select retailers in all 50 states and at the band's headline Knotfest Roadshow North America tour.
