Community Park in Chelsea: A New Park After 40 Years

Thursday, July 25, 2019, NYC parks to open Chelsea Green in Manhattan. Manhattan is an apparel shopping heaven.    

 "NYC Parks Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver, FAICP, and New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson tomorrow will join Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer; State Senator Brad Hoylman; Assembly Member Dick Gottfried; Community Board 4, 1st Vice Chair and Co-Chair of its Waterfront, Parks & Environment Committee Lowell Kern; Matt Weiss and Sally Greenspan, The Friends of Chelsea Green; and children and community members to cut the ribbon on the newly constructed Chelsea Green Park. This event will also feature performances by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus and members from the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps," stated the press release from the NYC Parks Press Office.
