The Port Authority, The World Trade Center Tenants and Vendors Summer Events

“We are delighted to host such a wide variety of activities planned for this summer at the World Trade Center campus as we continue our efforts in making this site a welcoming space for those who live, work or visit lower Manhattan,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton. “We hope that everyone enjoys these wide-ranging activities planned for this summer.”

The schedule is as follows:
  • The Farmers Market will open on the World Trade Center North Oculus Plaza every Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The market will be there until October 29.
  • The LIVE4 LOVE display, a balloon art installation, will be on display in the center of the Oculus through June 28 to celebrate Pride’s 50th anniversary.
  • On Thursday, June 20, Rooftop Films will present a selection of new, independent short films made by New York filmmakers at Liberty Park. The program will feature a mix of different fiction and documentary films and will include one short film about the 9/11 Memorial Pools. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. RSVP at rooftopfilms.com.
  • On Friday, June 21, Heart Chant, a participatory Deep Listening® meditation, an offering of sonic healing for all beings through vocalization and listening, will be in the Oculus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone is welcomed to participate, and no musical training is required.
  • On Tuesday, June 25, performance artist and choreographer, Ernesto Pujol, will stage – River ‘The Listeners”, a unique durational performance, as part of LMCC’s River to River festival. The piece will take place at Liberty Park and will start at 1:30 p.m.
  • On Wednesday, June 26, there will be a World Pride-themed Performance Art in Oculus from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. A group of 20 to 30 performers will create a community of empathy by walking back and forth across the length of the Oculus ground floor in a pedestrian improvisational score that invites them to take several actions as they pass each other: grasping hands, stopping and facing one another with eye contact, and embracing and gently laying a performer on the ground before he/she/they are helped to standing by another passing performer.
  • Continuing to celebrate Pride Month, Rooftop Films will present a screening of You Don’t Nomi at Liberty Park on Thursday, June 27. Listed as one of the best gay films from this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, Jeffrey McHale’s new documentary analyzes the campy classic movie Showgirls.   • On Friday, July 26, Rooftop Films and Sundance Institute will present a program of some of the best new shorts from the 2019 Sundance Film Festival at Liberty Park. The screening will include a mix of fiction, animation and documentaries. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. RSVP at rooftopfilms.com.
  • On Tuesday, August 20, Rooftop Films will present Brett Story’s The Hottest August, a new documentary feature film about New York City facing the inevitable consequences of global warming and sea level rising. Doors open at Liberty Park at 7:15 p.m. RSVP at rooftopfilms.com
