I attended a voting rally organized by the Spring Valley Young Adult & Civic Engagement Committee of the Spring Valley branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's (N.A.A.C.P.) Get Out and Vote Rally. The rally provided a platform to discuss voting rights and other issues important in Rockland County, New York like housing code enforcement. Mr. Mondaire Jones is an attorney and Harvard Law School graduate. He stated,"Here in Rockland we are committed to radical change." Politicians and other non-profit community organizations participated in the rally. We walked from the Spring Valley Village Hall to the Memorial Park in Spring Valley, New York. Mr. Willie J. Trotman used humor to inform us that attended the rally on an amazing Saturday morning about why voting is a right.
