Mr. Gordon Parks was a photographer, director, music composer, and author. He was the first African - American reporter at Life magazine. Mr. Parks directed the movies The Learning Tree and Shaft. He scored the film The Learning Tree. In 2009, The Gordon Park Foundation scholarships started giving awards to college students.
