    Mayor Ras J. Baraka, the Institute of the Black World 21st Century's President Dr. Ron Daniels,
actor / activist Danny Glover, Dr. Julianne Malveaux, Black America’s leading political economist; and President Emeritus of Bennett College for Women plan to talk about gentrification in Newark, New Jersey at the National Emergency Summit on Gentrification's National Town Hall at the New Jersey Institute of Technology Campus Center.  Newark, New Jersey should "...explore ways to achieve development without displacing Black people and Black social, economic, cultural and political institutions," stated the press release from the City of Newark. The U.S. Census in 2010 shared that over 270,000 people resided in Newark, New Jersey and an estimated 50% are Black or African - American.
