Literature: Classic Fiction Literature

Written by Stephanie Taylor, Editor-in-Chief, Intelligent Luxury

Classic fiction literature is fiction literature in libraries and book stores. Literature that all love to read to be happy.  The stories are about love and life.  Read classic literature to remember beautiful prose.

Think about the differences between American, Asian, African, Central American, South American, Australian, and European classic literature. Think about the history in each work of fiction. As a sociology major, society strata in fiction literature is interesting to me. Fiction describes social stratification of its characters. In Tales from the Arabian Nights translated by Sir Richard Francis Burton, a fictional folklore collection of stories about the poor, the working class; the rich, and the royals of ancient times.  In the french fictional literature Five Weeks in a Balloon by Jules Verne; society is divided into the doctor and his assistant.  The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton a novel based in America,  describes women as always using society to meet a husband. Women didn't work outside of the home in fiction novels; yet they committed adultery.

Reading fictional literature is fun and a historical review of societies changes in culture.
