A Matter of Balance” Program


A Matter of Balance is a proven program designed to help people manage their concerns about falls and increase physical activity.  The Salem County Office on Aging and Disabilities needs volunteer coaches. 
A Matter of Balance consists of eight two-hour classes over a four week period using group discussion, problem solving strategies, videos, and gentle physical exercise.  Participants learn positive coping methods to reduce fears of falling to remain active and independent. Coaches lead the participants through the eight sessions of A Matter of BalanceAttendance at two-day training is required to become a coach.  A coach must also lead at least two complete courses of the A Matter of Balance program during 2019. 
 The coach training sessions are scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2019 and Thursday, March 28, 2019 from 10 am to 3pm.  Training will be held at the Salem County Agricultural Building (Ware Building) located at 51 Cheney Rd, Woodstown, NJ 08098.
