President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melanie Trump Honor Juneteenth.  The Union Army's Major General Gordan Granger freed the enslaved in Galveston, Texas after President Abraham Lincoln presented the Emancipation Proclamation. This day, June 19th, marks the day the Civil War ended in the United States of America.

There are major Juneteenth celebrations in several cities in the United States.
