Internet on Board: Free Trial Period for Passengers
·         10 Airbus aircraft equipped with Internet technology, system activated for a free trial period on four jets
·         Surf on the Internet in the future for EUR 3 or more depending on the route
·         Entertainment program via WLAN network starting in the summer of 2017

Whether you want to chat with friends, read the latest news online or stream films, our Internet on board offers our customers digital freedom at an altitude of 10,000 meters“, says Austrian Airlines CCO Andreas Otto.

In a second phase, Austrian Airlines will make its own, entertainment program available to passengers via the LAN network in summer of 2017. This means that passengers, who bought FlyNet Surf or FlyNet Stream, will be able to take advantage of an entertainment program consisting of films and series using their own devices. However, as requested by passengers themselves, it will still not be permitted to make calls on board.
